Aldo Bulgarelli, an Italian Lawyer in Verona and former councillor of the Italian National Bar Council, has been elected, for the year 2014, president of the CCBE, the representative body, seated in Brussels, of Bars and Law Societies of Europe.

Appointment was at the plenary session, held on 29th November and falls in an important year where Italy will  assume Presidency of the EU in the second semester.

In his keynote speech, Bulgarelli explained his action for the consolidation of the figure of the lawyer in Member countries, which will focus first and foremost on the promotion of quality and ethics, which - he stated - are "the tools that make lawyers unique and preferable over their competitors, namely the large multinational companies for which the market for legal services can become a "good deal".
